Joseph
Our school was chosen by Bill Kenwright Productions to form the children's choir for 'Joseph' at Sunderland Empire (May 2016), Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (December 2017), Newcastle Theatre Royal (April 2019) & Sunderland Empire (February 2020)!
Evita
Northern Star Theatre Arts students were also selected by Bill Kenwright Productions to appear in Evita twice. Once at the Sunderland Empire (April 2017) and again Newcastle Theatre Royal (April 2019), another great opportunity for our students!
Annie
Northern Star Theatre Arts students were cast as the orphans in the Annie UK Tour with Su Pollard starring as Miss Hannigan at the Sunderland Empire. This was very special to our school as our principal, Geri Feeney had her West End debut in Annie!
Peter Pan
Northern Star Theatre Arts students played Michael, John and the Lost Boys in the Sunderland Empire's Winter Pantomime 'Peter Pan' which ran from December 2018 into January 2019. One of our students even had the opportunity to fly!
Sunderland Empire Showcases
Each year at Northern Star Theatre Arts we showcase our work in our own variety shows. In 2024 we held our 10th Sunderland Empire Show 'City of Stars' which was a huge success. Take a look at the flyers for previous shows below!
Summer School Workshops
Each year at Northern Star Theatre Arts we run Summer School Workshops. In 2024 we workshopped 'Mamma Mia' and 'Aladdin'! We can't wait for next year summer school. Take a look at the flyers for previous workshops below!
